SHIBA FEST 2023

The first Shiba Fest was held on Sunday 22 July 2023 at The Kennel Club Building, Stoneleigh Park. Despite the rain, shibas and their owners turned out for what was to be a fun filled day! The companion show was split into three sections: AV Shiba, Novelty and Fastest Shiba. Our AV Shiba section was judged by Mr Isaac Preddy (Overhill) who, with his cheery disposition, calmed the nervous handlers so that all could have a go at winning the ultimate prize of Best in Show. “Flame” was chosen as the Best in Show winner. The Novelty section was judged by Ms Karen Rogers (aka Shiba Mama South) who also is the face of the Discover Dog’s booth each year at Crufts and she chose “Loki” as her Best Novelty. A special mention goes to Best Rescue winner “Ren” and to Janice Bannister for her donation of rosettes to each of the participants in the rescue class.

In total we had 96 Shiba entered with 211 entries.

Thank you to our hard working committee and team of helpers for making it work. On top of this, we would like to thank Kavon_Doodles for the 2023 illustration, Deeside Embroidery for the making the merchandise ‘idea’ become reality, Rabart Canine for donation of grooming supplies for the well attended demo as well as all the attendees who came and supported the event.
