Judges Critique

Many thanks to the exhibitors for the fantastic entry I had today. It was a long wait for everyone before we got into the ring but it was lovely to be able to go over so many lovely exhibits.

Puppy Dog (4, 2A)

1 Dunhill-Hall’s VORMUND GIVES YOU WINGS – Fabulous 6 month red puppy dog, beautifully presented in excellent coat. Well balanced, super head, moderate stop and nice dark eye. Thickly padded ears correctly set. Correct feet. Correct stifle. Super mover when viewed from front, side and rear. Best Puppy dog and Best Puppy in show.

2 Bryan’s MARILOUVALE VIN DIESEL – Nicely constructed 8 month puppy dog. Little unsettled in the ring when standing but moved soundly. Good bone and type. Liked his head and expression.

Junior Dog (4, 3A)

1 Bryans MARILOUVALE BILLY ELLIOTT– Black and tan 12 month dog with good head and markings. Correct bite. Sound rear action.

Novice Dog (4, 3A)

1 Roskell’s AFTERGLOW JALAPENO – Promising young dog , correct head, ears and eye. Good reach of neck. Straight foreleg. Level topline. Moved well around the ring.

2 Bryans MY BLACK TUXIDO GO SAKURA KENSHA AT MARILOUVALE (Imp FRA) Black and tan with pleasing head and expression. Moving well.

Postgraduate Dog (4, 2A)

1 Bryans SHIOMARU RAION AT MARILOUVALE (IMP RUS) –Excellent head, eye and expression. Good arch to neck, good shoulders and sound quarters. Seemed a little unsettled but nevertheless moved freely round the ring.

2 Bryans MARILOUVALE GOLDEN REEF – slightly larger male but well within the standard. Good front , firm rear. Another sound mover. Another good head but just preferred head on 1.

Limit Dog (1, 0A)

1. Best-Rawlings TRIXWOOD VISION OF BOTH WAYS – Nice outline on this boy. Liked his head and dark eye. Well set ears. Good front action on the move. Straight topline, good angles.

Open Dog (5, 1A)

This was a really good class with dogs that could change places at any time

1 Cooper & Dunhill-Hall’s VORMUND HEATH CLIFF Quality, 7 year old, well balanced red dog, with correct double coat. Excellent masculine head, broad flat skull, well set ears . Lovely dark expressive eye. Correct bite. Well laid shoulders, good reach of neck and sound quarters. Correct tail set. Lovely sound action from front, side and rear. Best Dog, Best Veteran Dog, Best Veteran in Show and Best Opposite Sex in show

2 Roskell’s KEN GO SHUN’YOU KENSHA (Imp ESP) . Another quality exhibit with typical head and eye. Good coat of correct texture. Well handled. Sound mover

2. Best-Rawlings OJI SHOTARO DEL CAZADORA BLANCA WITH TRIXWOOD (Imp NDL) 8 year old well constructed with good bone, Level topline. Pleasing head. Moved well.

Puppy Bitch (2, 0A)

Two lovely quality puppies in this class. Different types but both had excellent conformation.

1. Dunhill-Hall’s VORMUND TASTE THE RAINBOW – Quality 6 month puppy bitch, beautifully presented in excellent coat. Well balanced, super feminine head and nice dark almond shaped eye. Moved soundly. Well handled. Felt she had the better head at this stage . Best Puppy Bitch and Reserve Best Puppy in show

2. Bryan’s INFINITY CHALLENGE HONEY BUN AY MARILOUVALE Feminine bitch with lots to like. Sound construction, balanced with lovely outline. Good head but not quite as typical as 1 at this stage. Another excellent mover.

Junior Bitch (2, 1A)

1. Sutton’s NIKOLA GOLD KENNEL BERRY AT SHIBASTAR (Imp RUS)– Pleasing head, nice dark eye. Correct bite. Good outline. Moved well.

Novice Bitch (2, 1A)

1. Bryan’s MARILOUVALE ESMERELDA – Nice red . Liked her head and expression. Good ear set. Sound front construction, good body. Well presented in good coat. Sound mover.

Postgraduate Bitch (5, 4A)

1. Jones & Craig ALMOLKA I PREDICT A RIOT – Well bodied 2 year old bitch with feminine head. Liked her dark correct shaped eye and expression. Slight arch to neck, good shoulders, straight topline and sound quarters. Tight feet. Moving well.

Limit Bitch (4, 2A)

1. Mothersdale’s AMIVIKE’S I AM RAVEN – Lovely head on this girl with excellent dark eye. Well bodied with good angulation. Thick white coat with subtle shading and correct texture. Sound action and well handled.

2. Best-Rawlings TRIXWOOD BE AMY’S DREAMS OF ME TO ZAANDAM – black and tan bitch with lovely outline. Well presented in good coat. Movement was sound.

Open Bitch (5, 1A)

1. Dunhill-Hall’s KOHARU GO RYUUKYUU URUMA VORMUND (Imp JPN)– Absolutely stunning black and tan bitch who oozed quality and type. Lovely feminine head with super markings. Fabulous dark eye with correct degree of slant. Erect well padded ears with forward tilt. Correct scissor bite. Strong but elegant neck, good shoulder angulation, level topline and sound hindquarters. She owned the ring when she moved with a fluid, purposeful gait totally at one with her handler. Was a showstopper the minute she entered the ring. Delighted to award her Best Bitch and Best in Show.

2. Bryans MARILOUVALE’S MERCEDES – another quality lady who I really liked. Different type but excellent head, eye and expression. Good earset. Well presented dense red coat of correct texture. Another excellent mover with a very proficient young handler who got the best out of her. Reserve Best Bitch and Reserve Best in Show.

Veteran Bitch (3, 0A)

1. Best-Rawlings CH/IR CH TRIXWOOD ADDICTED TO LOVE – At almost 12 years old this bitch had fabulous movement. She covered the ring with real drive. Action was sound when viewed from front side and rear. Liked her head showing her age a little but didn’t detract from her feminine features. Totally sound.

2. Jones & Craig ALMOLKA TITCHY STRIDER – another lovely veteran 9 years old who could cover the ground with style and elegance. Balanced with a lovely outline, typical head with good eye.

3. Bryans MARILOUVALE’S QUEEN ELSA

Brace (3,2A)

1. Best-Rawlings brace. Lovely pairing expertly moved around the ring by their handler.
