Class Results

I was asked to judge this show the night before due to the contracted judge being taken to hospital. I was originally contracted to judge in 2024. I send my best wishes to Mr Bert Easton and hope he has made a good recovery. Thank you to the exhibitors who took the last minute change in good grace. Thank you also to the committee and stewards who ensured things ran as smoothly as possible. Type varied considerably which is something to concentrate on when breeding as some, I felt, lacked breed type which is something so important. All exhibits were clean and well presented and all bites were correct which is an improvement from previous years. Overall movement is decent but a few are a little close in rear which is something to keep an eye on going forward.

Puppy Dog (4, 1A)

1 Lacsar Tic Tac Tayto

Well developed red boy who is up to size, he has super breed type, vibrant red with correct coat texture, beautiful head and expression, moved well and held his topline on the move. A very nice puppy who looks to have promising future ahead!

2 Vormund Flash Black

A delightful and well marked Black and Tan who is raw at the moment but very promising. For anyone familiar with B&T’s you’ll know they sometimes need a little more time. He is well balanced with super proportions, accurate, brisk movement, correct breed type and expression and is overall exactly where he should be at this age. I look forward to watching him mature.

1 Vormund Xmas Bonus - RBD, BPD & RBPIS

A super young male who excels in breed type, his eye shape and set gives a captivating oriental expression, good balance and well made throughout with no exaggeration at all. Sound on the move with purposeful and energetic gait, holding the topline at all times, clear red coat of good texture and a high set tail finishes the picture.

2 Marilouvale Black Raven

Another promising young dog, Black and Tan with great texture if I was being critical I would like to see a little more white for definition but that is splitting hairs, lovely expression, moved well with brisk action, strong level topline, high set tail not too tightly curled, well handled.

1 Toshiro Mifune Subarashii (IMP)

A smart red boy who was out of coat on the day but enough top coat to feel he has a harsh texture to his deep red coat, he is balanced fore and aft with good substance, not over done in any way, good for type and sound on the move.

2 Indaklu Keltic Druid

Another red boy who was more substantial than the 1st and carrying a little extra weight but nonetheless he was correct in type with a decent head, small, well set ears and good padding to his cheeks, his coat was a vibrant red colour with good texture, he moved soundly and held his topline at all times

1 Red Ashanti Di Poggio Patroio (IMP)

A smart red dog who appeals for type, he has a lovely oriental expression, padded cheeks and small, well set ears, a strong neck leading onto a level topline, balanced angles for and aft, correct coat texture and colour, he is slightly longer in body than I would like for a male and his tail is too tightly curled but he is sound on the move in all directions and this coupled with his type won him this class. He lacks a little in confidence but his handler did a very good job at settling and reassuring him. As his confidence grows they will make a super partnership.

2 Bearpark Galicia

Another smart red boy who has a beautiful eye shape giving a lovely oriental expression, well padded cheeks, balanced throughout and overall very smart, his coat is harsh in texture, tail highest, he moved well in all directions. Pushed 1 hard and I’m sure they will swap places many times.

Super breed type who has all the important features of a shiba, oriental expression, good length of muzzle, dark pigment, small, neat and triangular ears, strong neck flowing to a level topline which was held on the move, moderate angles front and rear and brisk and purposeful movement. Well handled.

2 Ken Go Shun’You Kensha (IMP)

Another smart red boy who has super type, lovely eye shape and set giving a beautiful expression, small ears, moderately balanced throughout, decent side gait but just lost out to 1st as movement not as strong coming towards me.

1 Ch Vormund Jean Paul Gaultier - BD, RBIS, BOS, BVIS

I don’t know what I can say about this boy that hasn’t been said by previous judges, he optimises the shiba, 12 years old and still gives the youngsters a run for their money with his super sound movement, he is balanced throughout, beautiful head and expression, strong body in excellent condition, moderately angulated, he has a vibrant coat with harsh texture which shows no sign of ageing in the face which many will know is rare in the shiba, he has a perfect tail which so many of us aim for in this breed, well handled to win BOS, RBIS, BVIS he really is a dog before his time. Thank you for bringing him under me, I heard afterwards this was his final show so it was nice to see him finish his illustrious career on a high!

2 Ch Rynard Flash Gordom from Miamilady

Another lovely veteran boy who again was very sound and able to show against the youngsters, well balanced with moderate angles, great texture and vibrant red colour most of which he has mostly kept in the face, level topline, energetic and sound movement, high set tail finishing the picture. Well handled.

Very typey red bitch who caught my eye as she entered the ring, she has a stunning expression which immediately draws you in, well padded cheeks, small, correctly set ears, a well proportioned body and moderate angles, high set tail, her coat is vibrant in colour with clear urajiro and harsh, energetic, brisk movement. Well handled. I was pleased to award her BPIS. I look forward to watching her career with interest.

2 Tapena No Atarashi Hoshi

A red bitch with black tipping who was a different type to 1st. Shorter in leg and deeper in body, well padded cheeks, good length of muzzle, correct eye shape, her ears are a little wide at the base and low set, strong neck leading to a level topline, high set tail and strong rear which helped her move energetically around the ring, her coat was of the correct texture, carrying a little too much weight on the day which made her appear deeper in the body than she is. Well handled.

Delightful young Black and Tan girl who is not exaggerated in any way, her markings are clear and defined, coat texture is correct, her head is well proportioned with a nice eye shape and set giving an oriental expression, her ears are small and well set, strong neck, level topline, high tail set and her body is well balanced with moderate angles front and rear. Her movement was brisk and accurate. Well handled.

2 Rina Wakimi Del Cazadora Blanca at Trixwood (IMP)

Another smart Black and Tan girl with clear, well defined markings, she appeals for type, her eyes are of lovely shape and set giving a lovely expression, cheeks well padded, strong neck and level topline, nicely balanced, her movement is brisk and very sound, a very nice girl overall.

A red girl who was out of coat on the day, despite that she had harsh guard hairs, her head proportions were good but her ears are a wide and low, she has a strong topline which she held on the move in all directions, moderately angled front and rear, overall a nice girl with correct breed type.

Postgraduate Bitch (5, 1A)

1 Amivike’s Cos I Am Special Too

Very appealing, smart girl who has a beautiful orientalist expression, she has well padded cheeks, small neat ears, a muscular neck leading to a level topline, highest tail, strong moderately angled rear which balanced with her moderate front, her movement was purposeful and energetic which won her this class.

2 Marilouvale Black Panther

Another smart girl, Black and Tan with clearly defined markings, correct coat texture, lovely type, eye shape and set giving an oriental expression, muzzle was a touch too long but that is being very picky, she has good body proportions, a lovely big, high set tail and is well balanced, tight feet, and moderate angles, she moved energetically and was very well handled.

A stunning red girl who excels in breed type, she has a beautiful headpiece which is crowned with small, neat triangular ears and an exquisite expression. Her body is well proportioned and balanced with moderate angulation both fore and aft, nothing exaggerated at all, her tail is set on high, her rear is well muscled with excellent second thigh which together with her moderately laid shoulders and correct front assembly she moves around the ring briskly and effortlessly and is a joy to watch. Thank you for bringing her under me I was delighted to award her BIS.

2 Burwen Billie Jean at Kaytoni

Another smart red girl who is slightly taller than 1. She has good overall breed type, a nice oriental expression and is well proportioned and balanced throughout, her coat colour and texture is correct and she moves soundly in all directions. Unlucky to meet 1 today.

Red bitch who I like for type, she is good for substance and well proportioned, she has a beautiful head, oriental expression, padded cheeks and small, triangular ears, her neck is strong, topline level, her tail is well set and rear is strong with well let down hocks, moderately angled throughout and good, sound movement.

Lovely red girl who is in super condition, another veteran who has retained her colour well in her face, harsh coat texture, orientalist expression, ears small but a tad low set, topline held on the move, high set tail, strong rear and sound movement in all directions. A credit to her owner

2 Marilouvale’s Queen Elsa

Red bitch with a pleasing head and expression with small, neat ears, she again is one who has retained colour and markings well, sturdy and well off for bone, moderate angles, she moved soundly in all directions, her tail is high set but too tightly curled. A lovely girl and well handled
